Our non-profit client is looking for a Communications Designer part-time to Assistant to develop working relationships with clients and help with administrative tasks. Strong InDesign and advanced MS Word skills are absolutely necessary, along with experience with a Content Management System (e.g. WordPress, Umbraco, etc.). This contract role will start at 3 days per week and can then transition to a full-time permanent role.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be responsible for formatting, graphic design, and production on funding proposals, presentations, reports, training curricula, and email campaigns as we conduct a search for a permanent staff member in this role
Have the ability to design communications and marketing materials using skills in graphic design and professional formatting of documents.
Demonstrate command of latest Adobe Creative Suite software — especially InDesign and Illustrator
Strong facility with all formatting nuances of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint needed to create polished, professional documents and presentations.
Qualifications:
Degree or certificate program in visual arts, graphic design and/or communications/marketing.
Familiarity with Constant Contact or MailChimp or similar email marketing tool.
Experience with Google Analytics is a plus.
Some experience creating communications for organizational use via social media.
Writing and editing skills.
Understanding of 508 Compliance requirements for print and online materials is a plus.
Strong knowledge of branding, design principles, layout, color theory, and typography.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, establish workload priorities, and meet established goals amidst competing priorities and tight deadlines.
Undergraduate degree and a minimum of two professional experience on a creative or
communications team in a fast-paced environment
- Comfort with basic video editing
