Our University client in Boston is looking for a Federal Proposal Support/Administrator who is a fast learner with a willingness to pitch in administratively as needed to manage pre- and post- award grants budgets for a busy college department. This is a contract role with the potential for extension. This full-time position will be on-site. Immediate availability to interview and to begin working is needed. 

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Perform duties under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance
  • Follow processes to monitor and report on a subportfolio of subrecipients’ budget to actual comparisons and forecasts
  • Manage review and approval of financial transactions (invoices, purchase orders, consulting agreements)
  • Reconcile university accounts and follow up with stakeholders, as needed
  • Support the financial reporting obligations to sponsors relating to the project; assist with funder grant reports and financial summaries for senior staff
  • Provide expense forecasts and generate actual vs. budget status reports, explanation of variances, and forecasted expenses for assigned accounts
  • Communicate with subrecipients to ensure spending and invoicing remains on track, and to adjust forecasted costs, as applicable; collaborate with R&D team on quarterly reviews and forecasts
  • Collaborate effectively with university administrative offices at all stages to ensure alignment and effective outcomes of financial and project compliance elements of the contracted projects
  • Additional administrative tasks as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with especially high level of Excel proficiency
  • Sponsored research grants administration in an academic or nonprofit research setting
  • Experience with federal and nonfederal grant awards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to present complex information
  • Experience managing grants pre-award and post-award required
  • SAP experience preferred
  • B.A./B.S. in any field
