Our University client in Boston is looking for a Financial Analyst with excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, a team-focused mentality, and the ability to absorb complex technical information and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. This is an on-site, contract role. Must exhibit discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information. Immediate availability to interview and start is needed. 

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop and maintains department operating budgets to ensure alignment with the college operations and strategic initiatives for the fiscal year
  • Utilize defined business processes for SAP and Business Warehouse data extraction and integration of data from SAP and internal databases (Access or Excel), to produce standard monthly baseline reports
  • Perform validation and reconciliation of data changes month-to-month
  • Resolve open historical data special cases (for example, variances in classifications year over year)
  • Build more efficient tools to routinize manual steps; suggest improvements to data management and reporting business processes
  • Assist with improved report formatting
  • Create, analyze, and maintain financial spreadsheets for administrative and academic units 
  • Additional duties as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with SAP and Business Warehouse required
  • Experience exporting and migrating financial and nonfinancial data
  • Experience creating templates and business processes to assist with revising, uploading or downloading database elements
  • Aptitude in organizing operational activities and resolving personnel conflicts
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytic abilities, especially with quantitative and programmatic information
  • Ability to view programs critically and think creatively about alternatives for providing services
  • Knowledge of Tableau preferred, but not required
  • BA/BS in any field
