Our Client is looking for an exceptional General Manager to oversee all facets of construction projects from start to finish. It is a Direct Hire position located in Essex County.

Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:

 

  • Direct work and supervise Field Personnel, Project Superintendent and Project Manager.
  • Analyze specifications to plan procedures for construction for start and completion times and staffing requirements throughout the project.
  • Meet with Project Managers to discuss schedule for upcoming work.
  • Ensure staffing requirements are accurate; i.e. appropriate crew size.
  • Provide updates to Owners of Company.
  • Post schedule electronically.
  • Review projects and resolve any issues.
  • Ensure procurement of all material for all jobs in a timely manner.
  • Solicit material prices from vendors.
  • Ensure material is delivered at the appropriate time for each project.
  • Inventory Management – Just In Time.
  • Review material costs and delivery with other owners.
  • Confer with and direct Project Manager and Project Superintendent and subcontractors in the planning and executing work procedures, specifications and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
  • Inspect work performed by field to ensure it meets industry and company standards.
  • Work with State Highway Department personnel and General Contractors on a daily basis as it relates to bids/proposals, issues on job sites and scheduling of work.
  • Provide email updates to other owners regarding any potential issues or issues.
  • Prepare and review reports on work in progress, job cost and business development for officers of the company.
  • Interact with field Foremen as needed regarding progress of jobs including any issues and or delays.
  • Responsible for ensuring company safety policies/procedures are followed on all job sites and confer with the Safety Director.
  • Confer with the Human Resources Director to resolve issues within the workforce.
  • Attend weekly Accounts Receivable and Operations meetings.
  • Attend meetings with other owners as needed.
