Our client, a prestigious local university, is looking for a contract Payroll Analyst who will be reporting to the Associate Director of Payroll and focus primarily on Student Payroll data.
In this role, the individual:
  • Will lead master data investigation, auditing, and reconciliation relating to Student Payroll.
  • In coordination with the Associate Director, develop standard reports and processes along with metrics to assist management with making key decisions.
  • Develop a deep understanding of data extracts to evaluate.
  • Play an active role in evaluation of data integration in our new systems acting as a key member of the team that works with the university’s internal systems.
  • Work collaboratively with other finance and administrative positions across the University to facilitate problems that arise around Student data. The individual will focus on compliance and scrutinize master data to mitigate the risk of fines and penalties from the federal government.
The Payroll Team pays over twenty-seven thousand individuals a year with almost half of those being students. This position will play a key part in getting those payments correct not just from an amount standpoint but also covering all areas of taxation, and withholdings that master data touches. They will communicate with and meet with managers on an as needed basis.
Requirements
 
The incumbent should have an understanding of payroll, accounting and exceptional analytical skills. They should have the ability to write an analysis of the data in a concise and clear manner. Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment as a self-starter and team member. A knowledge of SAP or ERP systems is a plus. Advanced Excel skills are a must.
