Our Government Agency client in Boston is looking for a Program Assistant with strong attention to detail to support their administrative and research functions. This is a contract role for at least 8 months with an immediate start. Must exhibit discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information.
 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Review letters and memoranda for accuracy, completeness and content to take appropriate action to resolve problems 
  • Coordinates and monitors assigned program activities
  • Responds to inquiries from the general public, agency staff and others to provide information concerning the program’s policies and procedures
  • Maintains liaison with various private, local, state and federal agencies and others to exchange information and/or to resolve problems.
  • Obtains evidence and establishes facts concerning reports of violations and alleged non-compliance with laws, rules and regulations by interviewing individuals and conducting on-site visits
  • Confers with parties to reports of violations in order to resolve requested information and make appropriate recommendations
  • Evaluate program activities in order to determine progress and effectiveness and to make recommendations concerning changes as needed
  • Additional administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

    • Solid understanding of MS Office programs 
    • Critical thinking and reasoning skills
    • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information
    • Excellent attendance and punctuality
    • Able to complete work in a deadline-driven environment
    • 2-4 years of administrative experience
    • A Bachelor’s or higher degree may be substituted for the required experience
