Our University client in Boston is looking for a Sourcing Specialist to support the Category Manager in the execution of a data-driven category plan for the university’s Research-related spend categories. This is a direct-hire position for an individual with superior interpersonal and analytical skills. The salary range for this role is 65-70K per year.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Deliver measurable, quantifiable cost and/or process efficiencies using established sourcing methodology
- Complete business process reviews with clients
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, manage, and execute on category plan initiatives that optimize the appropriate balance of cost and quality
- Build and manage internal business relationships by providing guidance and expertise on sourcing best practices, including supplier selection
- Work closely on communication and change management efforts associated with executed projects
- Develop and manage a supplier performance program within the assigned research-related spend categories
- Distill relevant content from reports to create engaging presentations that will help stakeholders, including university executives, make decisions
- Additional duties as needed
Requirements Include:
- Strong analytical skills, excellent with data analysis, fluent in Excel; experience with Ariba preferred
- Savvy with PowerPoint, written communications, and presentations
- Experienced project manager with ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Strong in negotiations, understands contracts, and comfortable managing a large project with stakeholders; procurement background preferred
- Flexible and agile team player who is able to embrace changes
- Experience negotiating with business consultants
- BA/BS in any field
