Our client, a University located in Boston, is in need of a temporary (7+ months) Assistant Registrar who will serve in this contract, student facing position. The successful candidate will assist in all aspects of the daily operation of the Registrar’s Office, including working with the GMS Registrar in tasks related to student records, academic performance and registration activities.

This is a full-time (37.5 hrs a week) 100% onsite position at the Boston campus. 

The ideal candidate is an adaptable, highly motivated, professional, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Execute activities central to the maintenance and accuracy of student records, from matriculation to graduation using People Soft Campus Solutions.
  • Manage registration, academic records and implementing all activities required for PhD/Master theses format review and final submissions. 
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA and other relevant laws and regulations.
  • Managing and implementing Summer, Fall and Spring course scheduling for all GMS programs.
  • Contribute to review, verification and accuracy of official transcripts and forms imported to OnBase, Adobe Acrobat, Degree Progress and other applicable platforms. 
  • Contribute to the annual update of the GMS section of the University Bulletin.
  • Strengthen and improve the GMS educational experience by providing expert advice concerning graduation requirements, course choices, university policies and academic progress to faculty, as well as new, continuing and potential students in a variety of degree, non-degree and certificate programs.
  • Manage office maintenance including facilities and supplies, and provide supplemental support to special GMS activities such as graduation/commencement and orientation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Academic Policy Committee and other committees as needed.
  •  May also be responsible for other administrative duties and may take on all of the Registrar’s duties when the Registrar is absent.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Familiar and comfortable with changing technology. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Preferred

  • Experience with People Soft Campus Solutions
  • Performing similar work in previous work experience.
