Quote of the Day: Mary Manin Morrissey
“Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. In order to be free, we must learn how to let go. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Refuse to entertain your old pain. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. What is it you would let go of today?”
-Mary Manin Morrissey
Morrissey’s words hold a valuable lesson for all: hanging on to the past impedes one’s ability to move forward. While it’s important to analyze one’s mistakes or shortcomings in order to better learn from them and prepare for the future, there is a point at which the analysis of past events becomes an obsession, and soon a blockage, to moving forward.
Thus, we must learn to let go. How high can one soar when not weighed down by the past to which we so often cling?
