Monday Mood Booster: Proactive

by Jul 27, 2020

Welcome back! As an appropriate start to the week (though it’ll be something we examine throughout our blogs this week), today we’re talking about being proactive. Taking initiative is a great way to demonstrate your professional commitment to any employer. It also shows that you have a great attention to detail, as it means you’ve been taking stock of what’s going on at work and have a sense of what needs to happen in order to make your organization the best it can be. Check out the sayings we’ve curated for you today in order to give yourself a bit of proactive inspiration:

As much as you should strive to be proactive, make sure you’re not jumping the gun–an easy misstep to make is offering up suggestions to your bosses and colleagues before you’ve had a chance to understand why your company functions in the way that it functions. While we know your feedback is coming from a place of care and excitement, unfortunately it may not seem that way if your suggestions are based on a foundation of inexperience. So make sure to do your homework! Another great way to show you care about your company is to learn more about its history as well as why your employers take the approaches that they do. This may feel like focusing on the past rather than emphasizing the future, but it’s an instrumental part of preparing. Join us again tomorrow for concrete ways to respectfully put your proactivity to work.
