Wednesday Wellness: Joy

Happy Hump Day! This week, once you’ve made it through today, you’ll be even closer to the work week’s end–and as much as we encourage you to find joy within your workplace, we know that having a day off inspires cheer as well. Allow yourself to feel festive. This year may have thrown a lot of curveballs your way, but it’s okay to experience happiness amidst uncertainty. Let yourself take a bit of a break! To help you recharge your batteries and fuel yourself with happiness in any professional setting, check out the sayings that we’ve curated for you today:
- “No matter what happens today, I will find the positive in it.”
- “The happiness I feel is felt by everyone around me.”
- “I don’t need to live life in a way that will impress others. I need to live my life in a way that will keep me happy.”
Instead of viewing challenges as obstacles, look to them as opportunities to learn and grow–this positive refraining will allow you to cultivate a sense of joy even amidst circumstances that might initially feel overwhelming. Remember that everything you do has an impact, and by leaning into your own joyfulness, you can inspire and uplift all of those around you in your workplace community, both bosses and coworkers. And a key step to ensuring your own joy is to not compare yourself to others! Everyone is proceeding on their own journey. You know your own professional needs and rhythms best. Rather than becoming stuck in jealousy, be happy for the successes of others as you continue striving towards your own goals. Join us again tomorrow as we investigate even more concrete methods to creating and maintaining joy within your workplace.
