Wednesday Wellness: Best of 2020

Happy Hump Day! With this week’s day off on Friday, you’re half of the way to the week’s end as of today. Congratulations! As we look to our best sayings of 2020, today we’re focusing not just on the past but on ways to remain mindful in the present. We’re also considering how to harness hope, allowing it to fuel you from the current moment into the future. Finally, we’ll look to ways to apply the positive mindsets you’ve built up to proceeding into the new year with even greater clarity. Check out the Wednesday Wellness: Best of 2020 sayings we’re highlighting below to get your 2021 off to a great start:
Present
- “I only exist right now.”
- “This situation is troublesome to me right now, but it will not always be.”
- “I am fully focused and present in my interactions.”
The new year is just around the corner. But you’re not there quite yet! Be sure to exist in the here and now as you make your way towards January 1st. If you encounter difficulties in these last couple of workdays before the new year, know that they will pass. Though it’s easy to get enveloped in excitement over what 2021 will bring, make sure that you’re remaining focused and present in your professional interactions.
Hope
- “I enjoy having hope and experiencing optimism towards this here and now.”
- “I have hope, and I am hope!”
- “I live my life with hope, and this gives me the power to go on, to proceed, to last and endure through the hardships of life!”
Focusing on the present doesn’t have to mean getting overwhelmed by obstacles! You have the opportunity to experience hope and optimism in each and every moment–so make sure you’re embracing the chance to find positivity. Let that positivity and hope inspire you, allowing you to proceed and persevere amidst any workplace challenges life throws your way.
Clarity
- “I will be devoted to clearing my mind.”
- “Confusion is just the mind analyzing things, and I allow my mind to take a moment to analyze and gain clarity again.”
- “I release the past with clarity about what has happened and what it really means.”
As the new year approaches, make sure you’re making time to find mental clarity. Slow down for a moment; let yourself hit that pause button! And reframing any confusion you experience as an opportunity to grow while you sharpen your analytical skills will help you move through those obstacles more easily. Take what you can learn from the past. Then let it go as you move forward into the future.
Take a holistic view of how you’d like to grow and learn in the new year, considering your past and present as you move into the future. And allow yourself to have hope! We know 2020 has been a rough and unprecedented year, producing more hardships than anyone could have imagined. It may feel strange to embrace a sense of optimism about the future, but we encourage you to find positivity and joy even amidst the challenges, and to view obstacles as opportunities. Doing so will help you put your best foot forward as you move into 2021. Join us again tomorrow as we consider even more concrete ways to get your new year off to a great start within any workplace.
