People talk about teamwork all the time; it’s a workplace ideal that we all aspire to cultivate. Lombardi’s simple phrase is one of our favorite definitions because it highlights the fact that teamwork is made up of individuals working toward a common goal, a process that only ever works when each person involved holds a vested interest in obtaining the end result.
Teamwork is the result of individual commitment to a common cause. Without this commitment, “teamwork” will never realize its full potential.
