Tip 9 for Being a Better Leader: Avoid the Same Mistakes

by Apr 2, 2019

You will make mistakes. You will choose the wrong approach at times. BUT that happens with any role in which you must make decisions and leadership roles are full of those.  Once a mistake is made however, our next tip is that you take the time to apply the lessons learned.  As Carly Okyle reflects, “those who don’t learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. History, recent and otherwise, is filled with examples of successful business models and spectacular business failures.”  Try to avoid the mistakes of others too. If a colleague’s project fails, tactfully try to find out why. Being mindful of your competition’s successes and missteps can also help identify own current and potential errors. Remember, its okay and even expected for mistakes to happen, but they shouldn’t happen twice.
