Don’t Forget – It’s Tax Day
As you probably (hopefully) know, today is Tax Day, the last day to get your taxes filed. We wish for you all that you get a nice return, even though we live in a time where the lower and middle class continues to be hit with the largest burdens, as the “safety net” continues to shrink.
As Warren Buffet famously said, he pays less in taxes than his secretary, and everyone else in his office for that matter. The upper class continues to reap benefits off the backs of lower income individuals, including those who are saddled in student debt and other huge expenses. We hear you.
At Contemporaries, we recognize what an injustice this is and strive to make a difference for those who need it. Being the first Staffing Agency in the city to guarantee at $15/hour minimum more than two years ago was an important step that we wish more businesses would adopt.
